Well running lets you hear yourself what you don’t normally hear when your at work or at home.

The best way to change what you see is go for a 5km run everyday for 10 days, you will be 50km away, and things will look different.

I love to run, and now ride. My other passion is Software. I am a software developer. I try to give back to my community when I can. So in this vein I have been helping out the organisers of the James Grant Memorial Multi Sport Race . I have helped to setup a race entry / pay by paypal system.

So go ahead register, though you probably want to be living in Cairns since that’s where the event is.

I can’t belive how busy I have been lately. Well yes I can. Probably no excuse for not writing here.

So a few things have happened in the last 2 weeks. Have done a couple more runs that I have been happy with, have done another ride since then though the mountain bike tracks.

I am looking forward to getting my phone repaired so I can enable the GPS, I can then log a few of these tracks, and have a good look at where I go.

I am trying to figure out if I can actually do the James Grant Memorial Multisport Race, I think I can, I think I can, I’m know I can, (if you didn’t get it ”The little engine that could”).

Festival of Sports – Cairns

We don’t have many orgainsed running events in Cairns, so any chance to get out and run with a crowd is quite good. The Cairns Esplanade – Festival of Sport was a great day out with many events.

I was happy just to try out my running again and see if I still had a little go in me after a while. I feel I did well for being a bit overweight 89.9 kg at 5′ 10″ (179cm ), with a BMI of 29.1 I have to lose some weight. I will feel much happier.

I completed the 10km, run in 46:26, and I still had a bit more in the tank so maybe next time I can make it a bit faster
